(VSD), is a congenital heart defect where there’s an abnormal opening in the wall (septum) between the heart’s chambers.
This hole allows blood to flow between the left and right sides of the heart, leading to potential complications like heart failure, arrhythmias, and pulmonary hypertension if left untreated. Symptoms may include shortness of breath, fatigue, and palpitations. Treatment options range from monitoring to surgical repair or catheter-based closure, depending on the defect’s size and location.
